Lala Laxmi Narayan Degree College, Allahabad, was established in 1971 as an affiliated college of Uttar Pradesh, India. It spreads over 5 acres. For the last five decades, this has been an institute shaping the contours of learning. This college is approved by NCTE. A well-planned curriculum prevails in the institution in training teachers. With a total strength of 866 students, the faculty has 19 people-strong, thus maintaining a very conducive student-teacher ratio, which calls for the ideal focus towards each student for quality education. 

Lala Laxmi Narayan Degree College has a wide range of facilities to enrich their experience and to ensure support for students in their study. Boys and girls hostels are separate for a safe and comfortable living environment within the campus. It is worth mentioning that the hostel facilities are compulsory for the trainees, which forms a group of learners. Thus, the college library would act as the knowledge centre and offer ample support to students in their academic pursuits. The institution also has a big sports complex with modern facilities for both indoor and outdoor games and a well-equipped gym for the sports and fitness enthusiasts. The institution also organises a Sports Festival every year to motivate students to participate in various competitions. Supplementing the syllabi, the college has well-maintained departmental laboratories, which help students learn by experimentation. There is excellent IT infrastructure totally supporting the campus with connectivity to the students and access to digital learning material. The auditorium on campus has been used for various events and seminars meant to motivate extracurricular activities. 

Lala Laxmi Narayan Degree College is running only one major course that is of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.). It is a two-year full-time course which prepares students for a career in teaching and education. The approved intake for the B.Ed. programme is 100 seats.

The college offers its admission to the B.Ed course purely based on merit. Admissions are made on merit bases in qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. In making admissions, the College also admits on the basis of any other selection process, as determined from time to time by the policy of the State Government / U.T. Administration and the University. This broad based approach ensures that deserved candidates are given an opportunity to fulfil their aspirations to become teachers.
