Lokseva was able to find Mahavidyalaya Bhavnagar in the year 1953 at Gujarat in the Sanosara region. The college spreads over an immense area of 165 acres and holds the recognition of the National Council for Teacher Education's approval. The student enrollment stands at 284 out of 100 at Lokseva Mahavidyalaya that indeed proves to be an institute with a ripe learning environment.

The institution is well-equipped with adequate facilities for an all-round education. One among them is the big, well-stocked library with more than 57,888 books in different languages of Gujarati, Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Bengali, and Marathi. It subscribes to 135 periodicals. Lokseva Mahavidyalaya is offering 7 full-time courses in all. These include Bachelor of Vocational (B.Voc) degrees offered in Agriculture, Organic Farming and Food Processing, and Bachelor of Rural Studies (BRS), Master of Rural Studies (MRS), Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), and Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed). D.El.Ed. Other courses approved are B.Voc. Organic Farming with an intake of 25, but approved for 50 students. The institute offers diversified courses catering to students in the space of rural development, agriculture, education, and vocational studies. 

The admission at Lokseva Mahavidyalaya is basically merit-based, more so in the case of the B.Ed and D.El.Ed. courses. Usually the selection remains to be held on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or entrance test results. This college follows the admission policy framed by the State Government, UT Administration, and the concerned Affiliating University.
