If you compare the reviews provided by different users about both of the colleges then you will find that Government Medical College, Thiruvanthapuram is much better compared to that of Madras Medical College in terms of Admission, College and Faculties. As per the information available, the clinical exposure one can achieve from GMC, Thiruvanthapuram is much better compared to that of MMC as the critical cases are very frequent in GMC and as you know for a doctor tackling the hard cases is the best training. So if you get to choice between this two then you can go for GMC Thiruvanthapuram which will be a better choice.

Hello aspirant

As per my knowledge madras medical college do not want your class 10th score. Eligibility for the college is given below:

As of December 31st of the admission year, you must be 17 years old or older. The maximum age for enrolling in an MBBS program is 25 years old. Students who have completed 10+2 in a science stream, including biology or biotechnology, as well as Physics and Chemistry, with a minimum of 50% marks (in case of SC/ST, 40% in board examinations; 45 percent for OBC Category) are eligible to pursue a medical degree.

Hello,

It seems you're a medical aspirant and I presume your query is for NEET, in order to appear for this exam candidates are required to have 50% PCB aggregate which is inclusive of theory and practical for UR, 40% in case of SC/ST/OBC and 45% in case of PwD, apart from having Physics, Chemistry, Biotechnology/Biology and English as core subjects, attain 17 years as on 31st December of appearing year, final year candidates can also apply, there is no upper age limit hence no restrictions in terms of attempts as of now as the verdict is pending in supreme court regarding age criteria.

Now, coming to your question, your neet marks are  going to be a criteria for getting colleges whether it's through AIQ or state, hence you need to clear the cutoffs against your respective category, 12th marks are only needed to appear for the exam as in terms of fulfilling the eligibility criteria to appear for NEET, even from last year JIPMER and AIIMS conduct admission through NEET.

Hello Priya,

The cutoff of NEET 2021 for 15% All India Quota (AIQ) MBBS/BDS seats in the state will be released by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) whereas Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Tamil Nadu will release the NEET cutoff Tamil Nadu 2021 for 85% state quota seats and 100% private colleges.

As you know that cut off varies every year because it depends on certain factors such as :

  • Number of candidates who appeared for NEET exam
  • Number of candidates registered for NEET exam
  • NEET paper difficulty level
  • Total seats available

As per previous years cut off,the score required to get into Madras Medical College and Stanley Medical College are given below .

For 85% State Quota Seats : (OBC CATEGORY)

Madras Medical College : 592

Stanley Medical College : 562

For 15% AIQ Seats : (OBC CATEGORY)

Madras Medical College : 620 - 640

Stanley Medical College : 600 - 620

All the Best for your Examination !!!

hello aspirant,

As of now it's tough to say what could be the cutoff because every year the cutoff changes due to many factors like total students appearing for exam, difficulty level of paper etc factors.but based on previous year analysis and your rank, category we can help you with your query. as you did not mention your category considering you from general category, now the  last year cutoff the cutoff for madras medical college for obc category is 625+,considering all india quota as you belong to other state.target high and try to reach so that you don't have to worry about if u fetch the seat or not because in 2020 the cutoff rose by atleast 30-40+marks causing a difference in ranks by thousands.so prepare well.for more information regarding cutoffs refer to: https://medicine.careers360.com/articles/neet-cutoff-tamil-nadu

hope this helps,

thankyou.

There are 10 Centres that have been identified for issuing PWD certificate for 50% All India Quota and Central Universities and Institutions. One of them is Madras Medical College. Page 73 of https://www.digialm.com/per/g01/pub/1258/EForms/image/pdf2/Information_Bulletin_NEET_MDS_2020.pdf has the template. You need to visit Madras Medical College and ask for Disability Certificate Board department or anyone from that department who issues those Certificates. The Board will conduct various tests and assess you based on the regulations. You can meet the Medical Superintendent who can help you with the process.
