Maharaja Surajmal Mahavidhyalaya, Bharatpur, was established by Maharaja Surajmal Shiksha Samiti in the year 2009 at Januthar (Deeg), Bharatpur, Rajasthan, as an affiliated College. This is a co-educational institution located in a small piece of land that occupies only 3 acres of land, providing a niche market. The college has 281 students and 6 faculties, which make the ratio of student to faculty very reasonable and teacher so that students can get individual attention. At the moment, the institute is accredited to offer only one programme, the Bachelor of Arts (BA), with certified intake of one hundred and thirty students. All in all, Maharaja Surajmal Mahavidhyalaya has dedicated itself to the task of offering quality education in the arts stream curriculum even though the institution is young in age.

The college has numerous amenities which are intended to support the academic accomplishment of the learners. The centre of these amenities is a library with an extensive collection of books amounting to 3,000 books and ten journals. This library has a seating capacity of 40 and is used by academicians for their research work. Co-curricular activities-lovers will be glad to learn that the college includes provision for both indoor and outdoor games, with an adequate playground to support other games. The institution also keeps a good eye on the technological aspect; good IT facilities are provided in order to enable students handle the advancing technologies. 

Maharaja Surajmal Mahavidhyalaya currently offers one full-time course: a programme for the Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree. This is a three-year undergraduate degree and we have been approved to take 130 students for this course; we have however managed to maintain the policy of other colleges of taking only a manageable number of students per class so as to enhance the teaching-learning process.
