Malik Sandal Institute of Art and Architecture, Bijapur (MSIAA), is one of the pioneering institutes that was established in the year 1991. This affiliated college is located in Bijapur, Karnataka, and aims at producing future architects and design professionals. The institute is affiliated with the Visvesvaraya Technological University so as to provide its students with the highest standard of education. Located in a 5-acre campus, MSIAA provides students with a suitable context to learn and innovate. At present, the total number of students enrolled in the institute’s programmes is 71 while the total faculty strength is 12, factors that make the learning and teaching processes highly individualised.

Malik Sandal Institute of Art and Architecture boasts of several contemporary facilities to accommodate its academic programmes. The college is equipped with well-furnished laboratories, a library with more than 3500 books and national and international journals and IT facilities. This welcomes separated hostels for boys and girls to improve suitable and agreeable accommodation for the students. There is a gym, playing grounds, and a hall for recreation and other activities and programmes co curricular activities. A cafeteria, medical facility and transport services that meet student needs are availed to the students. The institute offers two courses in architecture: a 5-year Bachelor's of Architecture programme and a 2-year Master's of Architecture in Construction Project Management. 

MSIAA has a rigorous admission process, following the national level entrance exam for admission into college. Only the NATA scores and the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) are acceptable for the B.Arch programme in the institute. These tests determine the ability of candidates in architecture and their mastery in mathematics and general information.
