Margherita College, Tinsukia, was founded in the year 1978 and occupies a special position in the state of Assam, India. It is a co-educational affiliated college that offers different undergraduate programmes. The NAAC-accredited Margherita College has truly left its mark on higher education. The college is located on a sprawling 5.2-acre campus with a total student strength of 1,488, and a nearly equal sex ratio of 753 boys and 737 girls. 

The institution is proud of its comprehensive facilities, wherein the campus is wholly designed to give students a great learning experience. The central library is one of the cornerstones of the academic resources that is partly automated. It has over 5,000 e-journals and 75,000 e-books accessed through the N-list programme. Students can access the OPAC facility and internet services within the premises of the library. State-of-the-art computer laboratories with more than 100 computers installed in three laboratories, all of which are connected to the internet, are available on the campus. The whole campus is Wi-Fi enabled for students for easy access to online resources from almost every point on the campus. Students who love sports can be served by a large playing ground that caters to various outdoor activities. Other amenities on the campus include an auditorium that serves events and seminars, departmental laboratories, a health centre with first-aid facilities, and separate hostels for boys and girls. Margherita College offers numerous undergraduate courses to suit various academic interests of the students. 

The college provides 16 full-time courses comprising both general and honors courses.
