Food technology is a very new and upcoming subject where an advanced study of techniques and activities which are involved in preserving, processing and manufacturing of food is being done. As per eligibility, students are required to have chemistry, physics, biology/home science/biotechnology as compulsory subjects with aggregate of 50% marks in all the subjects. Yes, attendance is compulsory. All students must have a minimum of 85 per cent attendance in every course to qualify to write the End Semester Examinations. The students whose attendance falls between 75 per cent and 85 per cent because of participating in co-curricular and extracurricular or NCC/NSS/ sports activities are given permission. The students between 75 per cent and 85 per cent of attendance due to long-term illness or hospitalization of ten days and above are also permitted but 50 per cent below attendance in any course in the semester will have to re-register and repeat the course requirements after their final semester.
