Maryada Purushottam College of Education, Buxar was established in the year 2014 as an affiliated college in Bihar, India. It is a co-educational teacher education institution in Chilhari, Pratap Sagar, on the Patna National Highway No. 84. The College runs within a compact campus of 1 acre and the programmes are approved by NCTE, New Delhi. This institute with 16 faculty members runs two specialized courses in education, opening directly for aspiring teachers and educators.

Geared with many facilities to make learning more enriching for its students, this college houses a well-equipped library serving as a knowledge hub possessing a variety of encyclopedias, word books, classics, periodicals, and magazines. Subscriptions are given for research journals by NCTE and CERT. It also has a fully functional computer lab with internet-enabled computers, where students are trained in the basics of computer applications by expert professionals. The institution also has sports facilities and a gym for the all-round development of their students. Both boys and girls have hostel facilities that provide a homely atmosphere with internet access and indoor games. Along with this, the campus also has departmental labs, canteen, and a health center with first-aid facilities, that would make this environment comfortable and conducive for learning and personal growth.

Maryada Purushotam College of Education is focused on only two major courses, related to the stream of education. The courses it offers include Bachelor of Education- B.Ed and Diploma in Elementary Education - D.El.Ed, both full-time two-year courses. Each of these programs has an approved enrollment of 100 seats for a total student enrollment of 200 for the two courses. 

Admission to Maryada Purushotam College of Education shall be made on the basis of merit by consideration of marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or Entrance Examination. College would follow the admission policies framed by State Government/UT-Administration and affiliated University. The candidates shall be selected for the B.Ed. program based on their performance in the qualifying examination or any other selection process as per State Govt. /University policy. The same is the case with the D.El.Ed course. The admission is based on merit, with marks in the qualifying examination or entrance test, as directed by the competent authorities.
