Medinipur Sadar Government Polytechnic was established in the year 2016. Located at Paschim Medinipur, West Bengal, it is one of the premier technical institutions in the region. This government polytechnic is sprawled over 5 acres and imparts quality education in engineering. The institute has been approved by AICTE and has risen very fast as a nodal center for budding engineers. With a total of 466 students enrolled, the polytechnic also had a faculty strength of 22, hence maintaining a good student/teacher ratio. It offers three full-time diploma programs in specializations of Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering, catering to the wide and varied interest areas of technical education seekers.

The polytechnic has various modern facilities backing its academic attempts. Being the learning hub, it has a stock of about 7,000 books covering different titles and authors, besides the requisite journals.
