MGM Institute Of Fashion Design Aurangabad (MGM IFD) is a professional education facility exclusively for fashion and textile design aspirants. This affiliated college was set in the year 2016 and is situated in the city of Aurangabad in Maharashtra. MGM IFD has a student capacity of one hundred and three and a faculty strength of eight which ensures a small class size for students in the field of designing. The institute offers 6 courses in 3-degree programmes in the areas fulfilling the theme of fashion design, textile design and fashion management. 

MGM IFD has incorporated quality education in its courses and various amenities to ensure practical learning education is achieved. MGM IFD campus has all the facilities on campus to optimise the learning process of the students. Rukhmini Auditorium acts as an apt platform for ‘Kaleidoscope’ the annual fashion event and other chief college functions to help the students to polish their innovative ideas. The institute provides clean hostels for both boys and girls on a campus basis to provide comfortable stays to students coming from other cities. Extra curricula activities include approved sports facilities, a library, and departmental laboratories to complement the student’s development. The campus also has an ailment that contains a first aid station, gym, and canteen that caters for the health needs and the meals of the students. At MGM Institute of Fashion Design, an affiliated college of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad, there are a total of 6 courses which are all full-time courses. These educational programmes include two bachelor’s degree programmes, three master’s degree programmes and one advanced diploma course. The institute has an overall approved enrolment capacity of one hundred and sixty growers to cater for all courses offered admitting what the institute considers a reasonable student enrolment ratio. The courses are B.Des Fashion Design and Textile Design, M.Des Textile Design, and so on. 

To date, admission to MGM Institute of Fashion Design is mainly through Design Aptitude Test (DAT). This is a norm-referenced test that is employed to evaluate the creativity and intelligence of all those aspiring to study in any of the courses offered in the institute. The DAT tests a candidate's abilities in design sensitisation, in problem-solving, and creative thinking skills thus, standardising the student that is admitted to the programmes to warrant maximum output in their fields of specialisation.
