Modern College of Education, located in Karad, was set up in 2020 and is a young college of Maharashtra. Being a co-educational institution, this institute is adequate to shape future of prospective educators. This is an affiliated college,  recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), that provides a specialised education in teacher training. Located in an area of approximately 5 acres, the college unfolds its operations with 84 students enroled and 9 members on the faculty side right now. Modern College of Education offers two courses towards education as an indication of preparation of capable and enthusiastic instructors for future learning environments.

Modern College of Education is proud to provide its students with a number of special amenities meant to facilitate their learning process. The library is a knowledge centre that makes important and accessible the information that a prospective teacher will need. Lab facilities are marked to fulfill practical components of teacher training and develop opportunities of interaction with different teaching approaches. The college has one of the strongest IT infrastructure that equip students with necessary capacity to be prepared for future educational environment. A good number of sports facilities are available for the development of physical as well as academic facilities. An auditorium used for various events and seminar helps to bring life to a college campus. The college also cares about students’ welfare through dining halls where students can have their snacks and a health centre with first aid services available for students.

The college has two teacher education programmes, the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) programme is a full two-year programme and the Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) course which is also a two-year course that is done full time. These programmes are aimed at delivering the increasing need of qualified teacher in the region. B.Ed programme which is the mainstay of the college’s course has an approved strength of one hundred under graduate and post graduate students seeking teaching profession. The two courses make the college overall strength of 84 students which seems almost equally divided. This approach of focusing on a few students at a time allows the institution carryout quality education and accord every student individual attention. 

The process of admission to the college is a merit based and everything related to admission in Modern College of Education, Karad is clear. As for the B.Ed programme, the candidate shall have passed the entrance examination or the marks they got in the qualifying examination will decide their admission. The college also employs any other processes of selection, in accordance with the polices established by the state government of Maharashtra and the affiliated university. Likewise for the D.El.Ed programme, admission shall be strictly on merit basis as per marks obtained in the qualifying examination/entrance test as per rules and regulation formulated by state govt./UT administration.
