Nabon Women's Synod College, Shillong Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The library was started in June 2002 when the College shifted from Synod College premises to its own College building in its permanent site in Mission Compound, Shillong. From a humble beginning, the College library started with only a few collections of books but the collection gradually increased with time. The College now has a well-equipped library for students and faculty alike which is constantly being improved with the procurement of more books, reference books, and printed journals. Most of the books are meant for students especially because they pertain to their course and syllabi of study, but some books are of general interest. In 2010 the library was partially automated and follows access using E-granthalaya Software, and in 2018 the library changed to KOHA library software automation.

The College canteen is a place for refreshments. The canteen is situated on the ground floor of the College, The Canteen provides a variety of delicacies and tea and snacks at a subsidized rate to cater to the needs of the students and the staff of the College. It also provides safe drinking water, The Canteen is operational on all working days of the College, The Cleanliness and Disciplinary Committee of the College keeps a strict vigil on the functioning and cleanliness of the canteen. It also adds to the nutritional value and hygiene of the food served in the canteen, The Canteen is a favorite hangout of the students in which conversations and ideas are shared and expressed.

The meeting was presided over by Smti. T. Malngiang, HOD Khasi Dept. At the outset, the chairperson highlighted the purpose of the meeting, which the main agenda was to elect the Office bearers from amongst the Alumni. The Chairperson then requested Smti. I.Manih, Khasi Dept, Staff member of the Alumni Committee to initiate discussion with a welcome address. 

The Committee decided to appoint the following Office Bearers from amongst the members present as Alumni Association of Nabon Women’s Synod College

The College provides medical care to students, and the teaching and nonteaching faculty who need medical help. The College tried its level best to provide the required help before specialized help arrived. A special room is assigned for medical care where requirements for medical assistance like the first aid box, a bed, and other necessary tools are prepared to help the students, the teaching, and nonteaching faculty in need of medical help.

The college has sports facilities for all students.
