National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities, Secunderabad: Admission 2026, Cutoff, Courses, Fees, Placements, Ranking

Admissions are made on the basis of the academic qualifications required and in accordance with the prevailing rules of the Institute and the affiliated University, i.e., Osmania University. Seats are reserved for different category (SC/ST/ Physically Handicapped) candidates as per the Central Government rules. The students must match the eligibility before applying to the desired course. There is no online application form and students have to print the admission form, fill in the details, and mail it to the institution. The detailed application process has been explained further.

NIEPID, Secunderabad B.Ed Admission 2024

Admission into the course is given on the basis of the merit obtained by the candidates in the entrance examination, followed by counselling / Interviews conducted as per the rules and regulations of Osmania University. In case of tie in the rank, the order of merit will be decided on the following basis:

1. The candidate who secured a higher percentage of marks in the qualifying examination gets the higher priority. 
2. In case the percentage of marks in the qualifying examination is also tied, then the candidate who has more age gets the higher priority. 

The total marks for the entrance examination will be 100 and the duration of the examination will be 90 minutes. The questions will be objective, covering general mental ability, general knowledge, general English, and broad aspects of general education and special education. Selection will be made in the order of merit.  

NIEPID, Secunderabad M.Ed Admission 2024

A candidate for admission into an M.Ed Special Education (ID) course has to qualify in the entrance examination conducted by Osmania University for that academic year. The candidates will be admitted strictly in accordance with the merit secured in the entrance examination, as per the rules of the statutory reservation of seats under various categories of candidates. Admission is given on the basis of the merit obtained by the candidates in the entrance examination, followed by counselling/interview conducted as per the rules and regulations of Osmania University. In case of tie in the rank, the order of merit will be decided on the following basis:

1. The candidate who secured a higher percentage of marks in the qualifying examination gets the higher priority. 
2. In case the percentage of marks in the qualifying examination is also tied, then the candidate who has more age (below 35 years) gets the higher priority.

The date, venue, and time of the examination will be intimated separately. 

NIEPID, Secunderabad M.Phil Admissions

Admission into the course is given on the basis of the merit obtained by the candidates in the entrance examination, followed by counselling / Interviews conducted as per the rules and regulations of Osmania University. In case of tie in the rank, the order of merit will be decided on the following basis:

1. The candidate who secured a higher percentage of marks in the qualifying examination gets the higher priority. 
2. In case the percentage of marks in the qualifying examination is also tied, then the candidate who has more age gets the higher priority. 

The total marks for the entrance examination will be 100. The questions will cover areas of general mental ability, psychology, and disability. Selection will be made in the order of merit.

NIEPID, Secunderabad PG Diploma Admissions

Admission into the course is given on the basis of the merit obtained by the candidates in the entrance examination, followed by counselling / Interviews conducted as per the rules and regulations of Osmania University. In case of tie in the rank, the order of merit will be decided on the following basis:

1. The candidate who secured a higher percentage of marks in the qualifying examination gets the higher priority. 

2. In case the percentage of marks in the qualifying examination is also tied, then the candidate who has more age gets the higher priority.

The entrance examination will be of 100 marks and the duration will be 90 minutes. The questions will cover child development and disability rehabilitation. Selection will be made in the order of merit.

NIEPID, Secunderabad  Diploma Admissions

Application for admission will be screened and short-listed on the basis of three candidates per seat by a committee specially constituted for this purpose. A merit list based on the academic qualification as per the rules will be prepared. The final merit list will be prepared based on the scores obtained by the candidates on the basis of academic qualifications and performance in the interview. No candidate is allowed to change the course of study once admitted.

• Issue of admission notifications over the official website
• Downloading and printing the application form
• Filling out the application and mailing it to the Incharge, Academics National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (Divyangjan), Manovikas Nagar, Secunderabad – 500 009.
• The application form fee, which is ₹1500 for the general/OBC/BC category and ₹1100 for SC/ST /PWD category, is to be paid only through demand draft in favour of “Director, NIEPID”.
• Tabulation of data and verification of entries in all respects 
• Scrutiny of applications by respective course coordinators 
• Issue of admit cards/call letters for the entrance examination or interview 
• Conduct of the entrance examination (in case of non-diploma courses)

1. For UG-PG courses, Osmania University constitutes the committee and conducts the counselling 
2. For Diploma courses, NIEPID constitutes the committee and conducts the counselling.

Documents Required

• Eligible qualification mark sheet/certificate. 
• Conduct certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended.
• SSC or matriculation certificate as proof of date of birth.
• 3 Passport-size recent photographs. 
• In the case of SC/ST/OBC, a certificate of social status should be obtained from the authority competent to issue such a certificate.
• If the candidate is a person with a disability, a certificate from the certifying authority prescribed by the government should be produced.
• The candidate's name and complete postal address with PIN code should be written on the envelope enclosed along with the identity card and admit card. The entrance examination admit card will be sent to the applicant in this envelope.
• Demand Draft (non-refundable) drawn on any Nationalised bank in favour of the Director, NIEPID should be submitted along with the application.
• The filled-in application form should be sent to Incharge, Academics National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (Divyangjan), Manovikas Nagar, Secunderabad – 500 009 Telangana, India.
