Nongstoin College was established in 1978 and is a co-educational college located inNongstoin, Meghalaya. This affiliated college with an area of 15 acres established under section 12 AA provides a wide number of various undergraduate courses. This college is recognised by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council and is a popular educational institution in Northeast part of India. The college has a total student enrolment of 1,996, qualified faculty of 52 academic staff allowing for the right environment for academic and personal together development. The institution has 16 courses in 5 degree programmes in Arts, Commerce and Science streams.

Nongstoin College has subscribed to a number of facilities that are aimed at improving on the learning process. The admission policy followed at Nongstoin College is deliberately one of open recruitment and merit. Any person who intends to study is supposed to apply together with all relevant academic records and documents. As for the various entrance tests, no examinations are specified but the college relies on the marks scored in the qualifying examinations (10+2 or similar).
