North-Eastern Hill University, Tura Campus, Shillong (NEHU Tura) was established in 1996 as a branch campus of the main university. This co-educational university is situated inWest Garo Hills, Meghalaya where it provides a large number of different courses in various fields. NEHU Tura has grown considerably over the years with 39 faculty members and offered courses are 20 courses out of 5 degrees. The campus is located inChasingre, Tura, where there are favourable conditions to study and for conducting research.

The University central library has a vast collection of over 296000 books and back volumes, with special emphasis on the North-East India region. It provides both offline and online services and provides the user to access the scholarly peer-reviewed journal through E-Shodh Sindhu consortium. The has established a number of departmental laboratories to give practical experience to the students. Strong base of IT facilities frame the learning as well as the research initiatives at the digital front.

The university conducts humanities programmes including undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate courses. Out of 20 courses offered, there are few full time courses in MA in Education, English, Garo, and History &Archaeology. It also offers MBA programmes in Agri-Business Management. The university also has programmes like M.Sc. Fruit Science, M.Sc. Vegetable Science, and Floriculture and Landscaping to meet the requirement of agriculture in the region.

The architecture of admission to NEHU Tura seems to rest heavily on the Common University Entrance Test for Postgraduate programmes, CUET PG conducted by the National Testing Agency. The admission to the MBA courses is based on CUET (PG) score of each candidate (80%), group discussion (10%) and personal interview(10%). Some of the other postgraduate programmes also require the CUET (PG) scores while also taking into consideration the marks obtained in the examination for the qualifying degree. The MCA programme even offers extra preference to the candidates having a degree in Computer Science or Computer application.
