It is one of the recently affiliated constituent colleges situated in Thanjavur Tamil Nadu which is committed to research and development of Bio and Solar energies. This institute located at Periyar Nagar Vallam offers postgraduate studies with major concentration in energy related programmes. However it exists under the roof of Periyar Maniammai University (PMU) and is dedicated to promoting innovation on bio and solar energy. Periyar R&D Centre for Bio and Solar Energies, two types of M.Tech programmes in renewable energy are provided for various type of students. The full-time M.Tech in Renewable Energy is a two years course, which is aimed at students who want to dedicate their time to learn more about renewable energy. These programmes are in a line with the institute goals of offering specialised education in renewable energy technologies and training students to meet this growing job market.
