Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Arts College is affiliated college established in the year of 1998 and located at, Kalitheerthalkuppam, Madagadipet, Puducherry. The university sprawled over a 7.3 acres area is affiliated to the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The college has a total of 708 students and a teaching staff of 28; it has 5 undergraduate programmes. Student population: 405 males and 371 females that indicates that the students population is almost split equally by gender. Currently, the college is equally as diverse as the student population with 7 % students hailing from out of the state.

Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Arts College has excellent amenities for the purpose of enriching and expanding the college students’ learning environment. MODERN LIB software and bar code technology provide a library of 7494 books across subjects, 32 periodicals, 27 magazines – both English and Tamil, with daily newspapers availability. The establishment incorporates different departmental laboratories to help facilitate different experiences of the students. A large hall with a seating capacity of 200 students with wall-mounted projector and electronic podium is used for demonstrational and academic as well as, cultural activities. Other important infrastructural units of the campus are canteen, internet facility and viable parking areas. Sport lovers have every reason to smile with the college having a 200 meatre athletics track; a cricket ground; and facilities in Kabaddi, Kho-Kho and Volleyball; and indoor games facilities in Chess and Carrom. A girls’ hostel is provided for female students who need to live in the school compound. Incidentally, students avail facility of a Medical College Hospital which is available round the clock and located beside Campus.

There are in all 5 full-time undergraduate programmes in the Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Arts College. These are BA Tamil, B.Sc Mathematics, BBA Tourism, BCA and B.Com. All courses have been approved to take 60 students; thus the total number of seats of all programmes is 300. All course are of three years duration and are available in full time only. Its main goal is on offering quality education in the of arts, science and commerce to capture the desired academic niches in the market.
