PSNL College of Education is a pioneer co-educational teacher training institution which was started in the year 2007 at Virudhunagar, Tamilnadu. This co-educational college affiliated to the state University aims at nurturing the future of educators. Stringently located and spread across a wide area of 9.92 acres, the PSNL College of Education has made its way to gaining accreditation from the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). This followed by a student strength of 395 and a faculty of 24 which makes for a good student teacher ratio of 16.5:1 which means the college offers quality time to the students.

PSNL College of Education has many facilities of students to provide the best environment for learners in the 21st century. The core component of academic resources is a library, that is completely automated and digitalized to provide most of the educational needs of students and staffs. The library also provide a service of book banking whereby students are able to borrow text books for long term use. For practical assignment purposes PSNL College of Education has equipped a state of the art computer laboratory with 20 multimedia computers that are interspersed with LAN internet and Wi-Fi facilities.  A canteen, a health center with a first aid section, sports facilities such as a playground and sport courts for all kinds of outdoor games, and separate hostel facilities for boys and girls complete the college campus. For easy access, transport facilities for students and staffs has also been provided in the college.

PSNL College of Education at the moment has only one course offered – the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) programme. This is a two-year regular course leading to a professional qualification for a teacher in order to help students achieve a fruitful professions. The B.Ed programme at PSNL College of Education is aimed to approve an intake of 100 seats, where students receive theoretical and pragmatic knowledge in the field of education. Although at the moment the college offers only one programme for teacher education, such specialisation provides a comprehensive understanding of teaching practices and educational principles.

The admission procedure of PSNL College of Education is equally following the policies of state government and the university affiliation criteria; the admission is purely merit based. Students are selected based on their performance in the qualifying tests, common entrance tests or other tests as recommended by the required authority. This makes sure that the college selects candidates who are most likely going to succeed in the area of specialty, which is in education.
