Punjab College of Education Fatehgarh Sahib was set up in 2005, which is a pioneer co-educational institution to prepare future teacher. This affiliated college is in the centre of Punjab and the college campus is spread across 0.75 of acres and this college is also affiliated and approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The institute has three programmes related to education with total student enrolment of 435. At present the college has 13 dedicated faculties which are coming with rich experience in education the class size makes students get more focus and better teaching.

Punjab College of Education has a variety of amenities that are pro--learning, and modern, giving the learner an enabling environment. The library is a highly intellectual part of the campus with all the e-journals and numerous books, and dissertations available in the library. The library, however, is fully automated to make use of the KOHA software hence ease of management and access to resources in the library is attained. IT Infrastructural support offer students all that is required for modern day college education practice. In addition for comprehensive development there is availability of sporting equipment, a well equipped gymnasium and a spacious hall that has a seating capacity of more than three hundred people. Computer Laboratory, Psychology Laboratory, Science and Mathematics Laboratory, Art and Craft Laboratory, Language Laboratory, etc. provide activity based learning. There are also different hostels for boys and girls, to provide the out-station students a homely atmosphere.

Many of the above colleges offer a total of three full time courses, all of which are related to teacher education in Punjab. The B.Ed course caters to the highest number of students with 200 students, the D.El.Ed has 100 offered seats and M.Ed has 50 offered seats.

The admission chart drawn up by Punjab College of Education ensures that students get in on a fair deal. For the B.Ed programme, one has to take the written examination organised by one of the three university. Panjab University, Chandigarh, Punjabi University, Patiala or GNDU Amritsar. This is next followed to a centralised counseling. Being an affiliated college of the Panjab University, the college admits 85% students from Punjab and 15 % from other states. For M. Ed & D. El. Ed Admissions are done on the basis of merit Marks secured in Qualifying examination, entrance examination or any other modes as per Govt./UT Administration norms.
