About Raja Balwant Singh Polytechnic, Agra, established in 1885 is a grand old institution with a history of over a century. The polytechnic is affiliated with the All India Council for Technical Education and is situated in Bichpuri, Agra. It has an 8-acre big campus to support the space requirements of literacy and co-curricular activities. The total student intake is 1,148, and the faculty strength is 6 members in all disciplines. The institute is offering 10 diversified diploma programmes under various branches of engineering that it provides. The polytechnic is dedicated to imbibing technical learning with specialised programmes necessary for the rapidly changing industrial environment. 

Raja Balwant Singh Polytechnic is adequately provided with a good range of facilities required for students to optimise their learning. There are 10 diploma courses in all at Raja Balwant Singh Polytechnic, all of which are full-time courses. It offers branches ranging from Diploma in Civil Engineering Environmental and Pollution Control, Diploma in Electrical Engineering Industrial Control Lateral Entry, Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Refrigeration and Air Condition Lateral Entry, and  Diploma in Computer Science and Engineering Lateral Entry. etc. These programmes include provisions for lateral entry in many of the courses, whereby students who are already qualified pass directly into the second year of study.
