Ram Chandra Uniyal Government Post Graduate College, Uttarkashi, established in the year 1969, located in the serene environment of Uttarakhand, India, is one of the premier educational institutes. The college is affiliated to the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and offers diversified undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. The college has 2,734 enrolled students, a very average student strength in the 7-acre institution, with a very balanced gender ratio of 1,139 and 1,516 of male and female students, respectively. It is housed with the 57 faculty members and 18 courses under 7 different degree programs that major in arts, science, commerce, and education. 

Library with 59,009 huge collection of books, including 42,216 textbooks and 16,793 reference books and subscribing to a good number of national and international journals, really adds a lot of value to the college. The college has departmental laboratories in place, which play a role in giving firsthand educational experiences. The auditorium helps in conducting several events and seminars on the campus, thereby developing dynamic academic environments. The college has great IT-enabled infrastructure to keep its pace with the digital era and to make sure that students are supported by modern technological resources. 

Ram Chandra Uniyal Government Post Graduate College offers a variety of courses to its students for various academic interests. The campus offers eighteen type courses on a full-time basis, among which several courses are of undergraduate and postgraduate levels. At the undergraduate level, BA, B.Sc, and B.Com are some of the popular courses offered on the campus, and most of the courses are at least three years long. The college also offers a two-year B.Ed. course for the students who aspire to be teachers. Postgraduate Courses There are provisions of postgraduate education in the college across MA courses such as Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Economics, History, Political Science, Geography, and Drawing, and M.Sc courses like Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, and Mathematics. An M.Com course is also offered at the college.                                                 

The school's admission process is carried out in a manner that is fair and merit-laden. Most of the programs have admissions based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination. The college has a different way of doing it in the case of the B.Ed program. Admissions to B.Ed shall be based purely on a basis of merit through marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. The selection process will also be done by considering other criteria notified as the policy of the state government, U.T. Administration, and the university.
