RDB College of Education, located at Thanjavur and started functioning in 2007 is a renowned Institute for providing Education with an aim to prepare future educators. This is a co-educational college established in Papanasam – Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu State, spread over an area of 3.21 acres. Part of its achievement as an affiliated college, they have received recognition from the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) in order to pursue quality education specifically in the field of teaching. The institute presently focuses on three tailored programmes in the field of education, covering a total student population enrolment of 224 with the expertise of 22 educators.

RDB College of Education has assembled diverse modern facilities that aim to improve the learning process of its students. The separated and well-furnished laboratories for physical and biological sciences are designed for Practical laboratory sessions on instruments such as Tangent galvanometer Meterbridge and Microscope. A section of the IT infrastructure entails a twenty-four-hour computerised laboratory with thirty-two newly developed systems that are connected to the Internet in which free access to the Internet is extended to the teaching staff and the students. Regarding health and physical fitness, the college has a health centre with amenities like a first aid and a sports room. It's a core academic facility equipped with books, CDs, and national and international journals with a library containing about 5300 books, 120 education CDs, etc.

RDB College of Education specialises in training and educating its students on a narrow list of courses in education. The institute provides three full-time programmes. There are undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in education, such as Bachelors in Education (B.Ed), Masters in Education (M.ED) and Masters of Philosophy in Education (M.Phil). The programme of B.Ed has a total intake capacity of 100 while the M.Ed programme has a total intake capacity of 50 only.

RDB College of Education offers admission based on merit, depending on the marks secured in the board examination, Competitive entrance examination. Admissions to the B.Ed programme are made according to the policy framed by the state government/UT administration and the university to which the college is affiliated.
