RDB Teacher Training Institute, Papanasam is on of the best teacher training institution which was founded in 2007 in Tamil Nadu, India. This co-educational institute reflects 3.46acres of area and is affiliated as a college, recognised by the NCTE, New Delhi, which is the Norms creating rules and regulations for showing the quality of teacher education institutions in India. Currently, RDB Teacher Training Institute has the total enrolment of 224 students and has 22 faculty members The institute offers four degrees in education specialisation. It becomes clear from this that quality is one of the institute’s driving values as seen from its programmes; D.El.Ed, B.Ed, M.Ed, M.Phil amongst others for pedagogy learners at different stages.

RDB Teacher Training Institute has many resources, which are intended to facilitate the educational process in the institution. A modern, well stocked library is a knowledge centre and access to education materials is easy. To this effect the campus provides for departmental laboratories structures, which help to afford practical experiences necessary for training teachers. An auditorium supports events and seminars and contributes to the active formation of an academic climate. RDB Teacher Training Institute provides a total of four full-time programmes all in the area of teacher education. The institute has the total approved intakes of 250 students in all its programmes hence has the capacity of producing a number of student teachers in the future. And the sanctioned intake provides 100 seats for D.El.Ed and B.Ed courses each and 50 for M.ED courses. 

The admission for RDB Teacher Training Institute is therefore meant to offer places to qualified candidates in the Institute’s programmes. D.El.Ed admissions are made merit wise on the marks obtained in the qualifying test and or entrance test as per the rules and regulation of State Government/UT administration and university policy regarding the admission in D.El.Ed course. In the same manner, the B.Ed programme also adopts merit-based admission procedure considering the marks scored by the candidate either in the qualifying examination or entrance examination in view of the state government norms and University related regulation. As for the M. Ed programme, the admission procedure takes into account the marks scored in the qualifying examination / entrance examination / or any other method that may prescribed by the state government / university or UT administration
