RCASC was inaugurated in the year 1989 at Mira Road East, Thane, Maharashtra. The institute is NAAC accredited and hosts a wide range of undergraduate as well as postgraduate programs. RCASC is situated in a small 2.517-acre campus and aids to the whole student strength of 1,460 along with 49 members in the faculty.

Royal College of Arts, Science and Commerce is affiliated with University of Mumbai, Mumbai. RCASC, Thane boasts of world-class facilities, which support its students with a fulfilling learning experience. Since the library is considered the heart of academic resources, it has over 20,000 books, 60 periodicals/journals, and 20 newspapers in five languages. It is through the library portal that the students have access to above 6,000 e-journals and above 30 lakh e-books. The sports infrastructure, as far as it relates, has been renovated outdoor game facilities consisting of a basketball court, a throwball and volleyball court, and play area for box cricket and badminton. Apart from this, the college also provides training in martial arts to girls so that they are equipped for self-defense purposes. 

RCASC delivers courses that will attract a wide range of academic interests. The college delivers 7 full-time courses, which comprises undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Some of the prominent courses include B.Com, BA, B.Sc, BMS, M.Com in Advanced Accountancy, B.Com in Accounting and Finance, and B.Sc in Computer Science. These courses prepare students in such a manner so that they could excel in their specific field of study without any issues.
