Rural Academy for Management Studies, Ernakulam, is an established educational institution in operation since 2008. Located at Ayyampilly, Cherai, this B-school is a co-educational institution focusing on offering high-end management education. Rural Academy for Management Studies is an affiliated college and has been approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), which follows the standard education in India. The academy has a faculty strength of 6 dedicated professionals to help aspiring managers amidst its specialised environment.

Today, Rural Academy for Management Studies offer a host of new facilities meant to complement the student experience. The campus has provided separate hostels for boys and girls, and both the hostels have canteen facilities for giving healthy food. Lavishly stocked with books, periodicals, journals and magazines and situated in a naturally lit and ventilated manner due to the nearby lagoon, this is the library. The institute also boasts of well-endowed information technology facilities, such as a well-fitted computer laboratory and wireless internet connection across the campus, thus enabling the students to be connected at all times to relevant information and technological innovation. At the moment, the university’s portfolio comprises only one main programme – the MBA. This is a full-time two-year course with an approved intake capacity of 60 students to ensure that IST can continue to keep the student-to-teacher ratio low for effective delivery of teaching. The MBA programme is intentionally fashioned in a way that it provides the students with the competencies that fit the contemporary world of business management. In terms of specialisation, it is unclear, although general areas of management like finance, marketing, human resources, operations, etc., are certainly included.

The admission comes with a lot of competition and follows the standard procedure of acceptance in RAMS. In order to be considered for admission, the institute considers scores achieved in the following management entrance examinations: Common Admission Test (CAT), Common Management Admission Test (CMAT), and Kerala Management Admission Test (KMAT Kerala). These many forms of examinations open many channels for the aspiring students to get into the universities.
