Affiliated college Sahakari Vidya Kendra Polytechnic in Bangalore was founded in 1992 and is located in Bangalore, Karnataka. This technical institution affiliated with the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) provides the diploma courses in the engineering branches. The polytechnic is spread in a limited area of 0.72 acre and offers its facility to 116 students admitted on total & is facilitated by 12 committed professionals. The institute offers three diploma courses that are unique as per the student’s area of interest in Electronics & Communication, Computer Science and Civil engineering.

Among its academic facilities are a good library and reading room containing 3,591 books and documents on engineering titles only. The programmes offered by Sahakari Vidya Kendra Polytechnic are largely concentrated in diploma level and all of them are three-year full time programmes. The institute provides three distinct engineering diplomas: Electronics & Communication Engineering offered 60 seats, Computer Science & Engineering offered 45 seats, and Civil Engineering offered 40 shared seats. This takes the total approved intake capacity to 145 for all the programmes, a figure that the institute has considered reasonable per programme to allow orderliness in class and efficient learning. As with the polytechnic curriculum, their course work is oriented toward the basic concepts of engineering accompanied by the most up-to-date trends.

The admission criteria of Sahakari Vidya Kendra Polytechnic is chiefly as per the score obtained in the Karnataka DCET that is Diploma Common entrance test for diploma courses. It is mandatory for prospective students to write this examination as part of their tests when they are seeking admission to the institute.  The polytechnic also has a Training & Placement Cell working like a bridge between the students and the employers throughout the year for campus placements & placement related during the academic session.
