About Shaikh College of Education, Belgaum
As a teacher education institution in Nehru Nagar, Belgaum, Karnataka, Shaikh College of Education, Belgaum was founded in 2005. This co-educational institute is an affiliated college and recognised by and affiliated with the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) & Aided College. The college is located on a large piece of land encompassing four acres which provide a suitable learning atmosphere for prospective teacher trainees. At present, Shaikh College of Education has 197 students enroled and has a faculty team of 15 members which shows that our college has always been conscious of maintaining a favourable student-teacher ratio for effective academic delivery.
The college has modern facility to compliment its academic programs. The language laboratory equipped with up-to-date teaching aids is an added advantage, also there is a well stocked library with books, journals and audio-visual aids. Immersive technology integrated with education is made possible through the strong information technology support systems at the institute to the students. The college also maintains special laboratories according to the subject they offers where the real feel which is necessary for teacher training is felt. To facilitate all round development of students Shaikh College of Education provides facilities like separate hostels for boys and girls, gymnasium, canteen etc. To make sure all the population of the campus is protected, there has to be a first-aid health center present at the schools.
At present, Shaikh College of Education, an affiliated college of Rani Channamma University, is only permitted to admit students in one full time course the B.Ed. This is a two-year degree course for approved intake capacity of 100 students which fulfill number of expected teacher education students every year. The B.Ed comprises detailed syllabi that prepare the students to acquire adequate pedagogy skills and theoretical concepts as well as effectively participate in practice assignments to achieve a successful career in the filed.

Shaikh College B.Ed Admission Procedure
The college offers the two-year, full-time programme B.Ed with an approved intake of 100 students. Admission into the course shall be made purely on merit determined by the marks secured in the qualifying examination and/or performance in an entrance test as deemed necessary by the concerned state government and university from time to time, besides adopting further selection procedures. The curriculum in B. Ed is so designed that this shall give them the right bases on educational theory and practice as necessary for them to be sound teachers.
