Shri Sapthagiri Institute of Technology, Vellore has been in the service since 2009 and is affiliated to Anna University Chennai. It is an all boys institution offering engineering education in Ocheri Tamilnadu. It is located on a large and impressive area of 10.47 acre which have provided favourable grounds to learning and development. A student strength of 254 and a faculty of 70 are available in SSIT Vellore and this provides a good educational implantation to the given students.

Shri Sapthagiri Institute of Technology has a host of modern facilities which help in supporting any academic activities. There are well-equipped laboratories, computer and IT centres, classrooms, etc., in the campus facility to ensure practical learning experiences to the students. The library as one of the major learning resources centres stocks a number of books, journals and e-resources for various disciplines. In order to provide accommodation to the students SSIT has arrangements of boys and girls hostel which has provision of 24 hours security, internet facility, and mess also. Currently, Shri Sapthagiri Institute of Technology has a total of five B.Tech programmes all of which are conventional full-time programmes spread over four academic years. The available speciality fields are Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering. Such a diverse range of programmes gives a student an opportunity to select the field of their study based on their preferences or future career goal. Exact number of seats for these programmes is not defined but the total intake capacity of this institute is 254 which gives idea that number of seats in these programmes are equal.

Shri Sapthagiri Institute of Technology also has criteria there was eligibility criteria, as per the merit of the candidates in their qualifying examination. Other eligible students must undergone TNEA counselling which stands for Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions. However, this concept of state level counselling process is very much essential for getting admission into this institute. Though the exams are conducted for compartmentalised streams of subjects prescribed for admission to the first year, the TNEA counselling schedule which takes place every year after the announcement of 12th standard results in Tamil Nadu isn’t precise about specific dates for examinations.
