Located in the town of Lonavala, Maharashtra, Sinhgad Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology was established in the year 2004. This affiliated college has been assessed and granted accreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The institute is spread over a 2.5-acre campus, offering a co–educational environment with a total enrolment of 176 students and faculty strength is 13 members.

Sinhgad Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology has two full-time courses catering to various aspects of the hospitality industry. It has a total approved intake of 60 students in its flagship programme, so special attention and effort can be channeled into the education and development of each student according to the best interest of the industry.
The admission process for Sinhgad Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology will differ depending on the programmes in which the candidates have enrolled. The admission to the four-year BHMCT programme is based on the CET as per DTE's notification. This makes the selection process for hospitality students fair and uniform. Whereas in the case of the B.Sc Hospitality Studies programme, admission is taken at the institute level on the basis of merit.
