SJ Thakkar Pharmacy College was established in the year 2004, affiliated in Rajkot, Gujarat. Affiliated and approved by the Pharmacy Council of India, it has been setting the standard for the future of pharmacy education for almost two decades. The college is in front of the NRI Bungalow, located on Avadh Road, and inducts aspiring pharmacists into a host of pharmaceutical programs. With a faculty of 10 full-time professionals, SJ Thakkar Pharmacy College provides students with a focused learning environment. The college offers 3 programmes in 2 degrees. The specializations which the college deals with are, B.Pharma, M.Pharma Pharmaceutics and M.Pharma with a specialization in Quality Assurance.

The college has pretty advanced facilities which promise to improve learning for all its students. At the centre of all these facilities is a well-maintained, spacious library with more than 7,000 books comprising over 800 titles. The library subscribes to 18 national and 5 international journals. This library helps the students and faculty get updates on what is happening in the fields of pharmaceutical sciences. It also provides Wi-Fi internet facilities on three computers and is useful for students and faculty while doing research and project work. The college library is working on SOUL software, which is very helpful in managing various documents efficiently. The I.T part of the college comprises a well-equipped computer laboratory installed with the latest software and 2 Mbps uninterrupted broad band connectivity which helps in teaching and research work.

SJ Thakkar Pharmacy College has a net number of three courses overall, which are all full-time courses.The B.Pharma undergraduate course for four years with 60 intake capacities. The postgraduate level offers two M.Pharma programs: M.Pharma Pharmaceutics and M.Pharma Quality Assurance; both have two years of duration and intake capacity for 6 admissions under each program. Adding these to the number of seats available at other courses, a total seat availability was 72 in all courses. The college lays much emphasis on the quality of pharmaceutical education to prepare the students for a successful career in the pharmaceutical industry.
