About SAIDS Kozhikode
Sree Anjaneya Institute of Dental Sciences (SAIDS) is a private college of dental science that was set up in 2013 in Kozhikode, Kerala. This is a co-educational institution accredited by the Kerala University of Health Sciences and gives dental programmes approved by the Dental Council of India (DCI). The SAIDS Kozhikode is twenty-four thousand, three hundred and eleven square metre area spread in eight acres and four hundred and eleven square metres area constructed infrastructure college with excellence in Dental education and practice. The students enrolled at the institute total 498 and the faculty 251, which makes student-teacher ratio optimum, helping to deliver personalised quality education.
The institute boasts of well-equipped facilities to supplement students’ learning needs with efficient teaching aids available. SAIDS Kozhikode provides different hostels as boys hostels and girls hostels as well, which are well furnished and modernised, and food served here is also good, with separate security to boys and girls hostels 24/7. Accommodation facilities provided by this hostel complex comprise a neat and well-fitted mess that prepares and provides balanced and healthy meals to fill the guests bellies in home-cooked way. In terms of academic learning, the college has central library and separate departmental library that has a rich collection of dental literature books, journals, magazines and CDs. The IT facilities are also well developed; basically, there is a main computer laboratory equipped with WI-FI connection and subscriptions to e-journals. There is internet connection within the institution to allow the students to stay connected and have easy access to the internet.
SAIDS Kozhikode offers a total of six courses across two degree programmes: Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and Master of Dental Surgery (MDS). BDS is full-time, five-year course and has an approved strength of one hundred. For postgraduate, the institute has offered five MDS specialisations in which the course extends for three years, and the institute admits three students per specialty. These specialities are MDS in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Prosthodontics & Crown & Bridge, Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, Pedodontics & Preventive Dentistry and Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopaedics. All course are full-time, so the students acquire profound knowledge in their chosen dental specialities as well as develop practical skills.
