Sri Ramachandra College of Nursing Chennai was started in the year of 1993 and is now an important constituent college of Sri Ramachandra University. St Alokams College of Nursing started its journey three decades ago and is located at Porur in Chennai. Endorsed by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) that certifies it, Mukand Lal Institute of Health Sciences currently runs several programs including its under graduate and post graduate courses in nursing. The college has a faculty of 65 devoted professional teachers who are dedicated to provide quality education as well as guidance to learners.

The college has put down state-of-the-art facilities for learning with the aim of improving the quality of a student’s learning period as well as his or her health. This college offers a total of eight courses in the several fields of nursing, at Sri Ramachandra University. These programs are offered at first and second Degree levels and all are full-time University level courses. The programme that anchors the college in particular is the B.Sc Nursing which has an approved capacity of admitting one hundred students. For those who want to expand their training the college offers Post Basic B.Sc Nursing with 60 seats. The College offers the M.Sc programs at post graduate level in the six specializations of Medical Surgical Nursing, Paediatric Nursing, Obstetrics and Gynaecological Nursing, Community Health Nursing, and Psychiatric Nursing with total seats of six in each. The comparatively new course, M.Sc Nursing Practitioner in Critical Care, has 10 seats.
