St. Mark’s College of Education started in 2001, is a self financing teacher training institute situated at Navakkarai, Madukkarai, Coimbatore, Tamilnadu. This college is a co-educational college that has designed curricular programmes that have been accredited by the NCTE and therefore is an affiliated college which offers quality education. Total number for students admitted into the school is two hundred while it has a faculty that comprises fourteen members to enhance focused learning to those who wish to teach. The college offers only one course- the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) which is a two-year full time programme.

St. Mark’s College of Education has all the necessary amenities on the campus to facilitate learning for its students. This college has a well-equipped library centre; therefore, the students have books to read and anything related to their education. These are as follows; Department wise laboratory: This is very important for the practical teachers training. An Auditorium is that it is used to address gatherings and seminars, making the environment scholarly active. Tertiary facilities such as college cafeteria, health centre with first aid facilities, and appropriate technological support for present day learning needs is also avails at the college. For students physical development they are provided with sports facilities within the compound of the school.

The College offers only one course which is the Bachelors of Education (B.ED) programme, which is a full time course that takes two academic years. The college intake has been approved to sixty-100 seats for this course in order to accommodate a number of teacher training students annually. This concept of focused approach enables the institution to put all its efforts, talent and resources in offering quality teacher education. B.Ed programme offered by St. Mark’s is planned to offer skills and knowledge required to success in the field of education.

The admission process in St. Mark’s College of Education works in a merit system proposed by the state government, Union Territory administration and the affiliated University. The admissions are on the basis of mark obtained in the qualifying examination and/ or entrance examination. The college may also use other modes of selection as may be determined by the existing practices.
