Sushant University offers a doctoral research programme leading to the award of a PhD degree and aims at developing individuals into distinguished researchers in the fields of architecture, design, engineering, management, computer sciences, law and applied sciences. Respective schools of the university offer PhD programmes with a strong focus on promoting interdisciplinary research in these areas.

The duration for the Part-time and Full-time Ph. D. programme is 3 years. The maximum duration (from the date of registration) of the Ph. D. programme will not exceed 6 years. Thereafter, the registration stands cancelled automatically, unless, for valid reasons, the Vice-Chancellor grants an extension of usually not more than six months.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who have completed: (1) Candidates who have qualified UGC-NET (Including JRF)/CSIR-NET(Including JRF)/SLET/GATE/GPAT/Teacher fellowship holder or have passed M Phil programme are exempted from the first stage process of TRAT(written test). Master’s degree programme or qualifications declared equivalent to the master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed or equivalent qualification from a foreign educational institution accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assure quality and standards of the educational institution. A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time.
(2) Candidates who have completed the M.Phil. programme with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed or equivalent qualification from a foreign educational institution accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assure quality and standards of educational institutions, shall be eligible for admission to the Ph.D. programme. A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled of Haryana State Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time

Admission Details

Entrance Test for admission to Ph. D. programme would aim at judging the aptitude and potential to do research work. There will be two papers; first being Research Methodology and the second being Subject Specific
