Swami Shri Swaroopanand Saraswati Mahavidyalaya or SSSSMV was established in the year 2005. It is located at Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, and is a co-educational affiliated college, with a campus area of 2 acres. Varying courses and degrees are offered, including 25 courses in 11 degrees. A total of 1,308 students are enrolled while 75 members of staff cater to the needs of the institution.

Swami Shri Swaroopanand Saraswati Mahavidyalaya possesses all state-of-the-art infrastructure for its academic engagements. The college library contains over 24,006 books and journals, be it national or international, within which the students can delve into with their options. For the tech-friendly students, there are 100 advanced computers connected with all the equipment needed to access the Internet. Thus, they can gain hands-on experience in software development. Laboratories for the Biotechnology, Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Microbiology, Botany, and Zoology are also well-equipped to provide a more practical approach to academics.

The college offers an array of courses across many academic interests. Among them, under-graduate programmes include full-time courses like B.Ed, BBA, B.Com, BA, and BCA. They also have masters programmes such as M.Ed, M.Sc in specialised fields, and M.Com. Besides the above-mentioned post graduate and under graduate courses, the institute also offers Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA) and a Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).

The admission at SSSSMV is strictly merit-based. Any student is admitted, purely based on marks obtained in qualifying examinations and/or entrance tests, as per the policies set up by the state government and the university.
