The Tamil Nadu Institute of Labour Studies (TILS) was set up in 1973 is a post graduate centre for specialised human resource development in Labour and Social Welfare under the University of Madras is at Chennai, Tamil Nadu. This affiliated college is also part of the University and it focuses on providing programmes in the area of labour, studies and management up to the postgraduate level. Set up in a constrained three acres of land in Triplicane, Chennai, the school offers education to 257 students in total. As it will be seen, the institute is well suited to provide education in this area since it focuses on disciplines related to labour. TILS having a faculty of 2 has developed 4 courses at different levels of education for those who are aspiring to be Labour Administrators and Managers.
