The Y.A. Government Degree College for Women, Chirala, Andhra Pradesh, was established in 1966, and ever since, it has been a pioneer institution in women's education. The college has the diversity of 14 different courses in 6 degree programmes with 568 students. The faculty is fairly well represented with 30 members on a 5-acre campus, ensuring a quite favourable student-teacher ratio.
