At most business schools, industry arrives on placement day. At Fortune Institute of International Business (FIIB), an AACSB-accredited B-school in New Delhi, it shows up while the learning is still taking shape. In the past few weeks alone, more than 50 industry leaders tested AI products built by FIIB students, senior leaders from firms including Grant Thornton Bharat and Publicis Groupe debated the future organization with students at Manthan 7.0, and MRF ran a pool recruitment drive on campus for 150 MBA students from 12 institutions.

This is what FIIB means by an industry-first B-school. Industry is not invited in at the end to judge a finished product. Mentors, practitioners and recruiters work alongside students across the two-year PGDM, shaping projects while they can still change, testing ideas against real business problems and showing students what employers will expect of them. By the time FIIB graduates reach their first job, they have already made real decisions with real stakes.

At FIIB's recent Gamified AI Business Projects Showcase, six PGDM teams handed 50+ industry leaders the controls of AI business games they had built in nine days, from running a quick-commerce dark store at peak hour to FMCG brand recall around ITC and HUL. In every game the AI advised or competed, but the player made the call, and leaders pushed teams on how the same logic could work in their own businesses.
The same approach carries into FIIB's 12-week Corporate Internship Program, where students are expected to solve a real business problem, not just complete tasks. At ITC, Bhavya Bansal built an AI route splitter and outlet tracker that the sales team leader ran on live route data, lifting productive outlet conversion per day from 2% to between 30% and 40%. At Aditya Birla Capital, Vidushi Chaturvedi built RetailIQ, an AI-assisted stock screener covering 50+ retail sector companies that cut research and screening time by about 70%.
Arpit Agarwal built VerifyAI at Kantar, a working prototype that runs several survey verification calls at once, while Sanah Elsa Chacko built SocialPulse AI during her internship at VenturEdu and Mentor Sprints, bringing LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube data into one view to guide what the team plans next.

At Manthan 7.0, FIIB's recent annual management conclave, leaders from Grant Thornton Bharat, Publicis Groupe, ICICI Lombard, Mettl and others met students face to face to debate how individual talent becomes organizational capability. "Keep judgment with yourself," said keynote speaker Chetan Nanda, Director, Grant Thornton Bharat. "AI can't judge for you."
MRF, a recruitment partner to FIIB for more than five years, recently ran a pool campus drive at FIIB for 150 MBA students from 12 institutions. Its selection panel saw the difference live project experience makes.

"It enables them to bridge the gap between academics and the reality of the market," said Sunish Cherian, National Sales Manager, MRF. "That gap has reduced a lot, and it has to be a continuous process." He added that this year's candidates came in with better clarity about the roles they wanted and what to expect from them. FIIB records 95% placements through 250+ recruiters, and its graduates see 2x average salary growth within two years.
None of this happens by chance. FIIB's PGDM is designed so that industry is part of every stage of the program:
Careers from Week One: the four-stage SANKALP employability framework begins in a student's first week.
Mentors who advocate: every student works with at least three industry mentors through the Corporate Mentorship Program.
Practitioners in the classroom: 30% of courses are co-taught by industry leaders, with 100+ corporate engagements a year.
27+ weeks of real work: a 12-week corporate internship, live projects and 15+ business simulations.
AI with judgment: 25+ AI tools across courses, with human judgment kept in charge.
The capital advantage: a New Delhi campus close to corporates, consulting firms, policy institutions and embassies.
"The quality of an MBA is measured by the number of real, unscripted decisions a student is required to make over two years," said Dr. Radhika Shrivastava, President & CEO, FIIB. "Knowledge can be taught, judgment has to be lived."
