MS Life Sciences Integrated at Ahmedabad University Offline Course

The Integrated Master of Science in Life Sciences is an innovative reconfiguration of the traditional Biology degree.

With a commitment to learning through experimentation, the degree unfolds through individual research projects in the lab in frontier areas of the life sciences. Here students have the rare opportunity to assist in faculty research. And this is the only degree in India that offers students at the Masters level hands-on access to advanced equipment, at our Centres for Excellence in Imaging, Flow Cytometry, In Silico Technology, and Nanotechnology Research and Applications. With an emphasis on both industry and academia, the five-year degree trains students in theory and laboratory work and empowers them to be independent and informed researchers.

Programme Outcomes

Students of the Integrated Master of Life Sciences will:

Gain a sound understanding of modern concepts in Life Sciences, ranging from the level of molecules to the ecosystem

Have hands-on access to advanced research equipment in Flow Cytometry, Imaging, Nanotechnology and In Silico Technology

Learn how to frame research questions, plan and conduct scientific experiments, use basic and advanced equipment, and analyse the results

Undertake advanced research in an area of their interest, and complete a Masters thesis that explores it

Course Structure

All incoming Undergraduates at Ahmedabad University start with the Foundation programme, an interdisciplinary course that covers fields from Mathematics to Literature through project-based learning.

All courses in the degree include a laboratory component.
