72 MonthsPh.D. program in Linguistics shall be for a minimum duration of three years, including course work and a maximum of six years. Extension beyond the above limits will be governed by the relevant clauses as stipulated in the Statute/Ordinance of the individual Institution concerned. Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should have a Master’s Degree in the relevant discipline with at least 55% of marks or an equivalent grade (50% of marks or equivalent grade for SC, ST, and Physically challenged candidates) of Berhampur University or any other University/Institution recognized by the University/UGC. College teachers and professionals with 15 years of experience should have at least 48% of marks at the Master’s Degree level.
Admission Details
Candidates shall make an application available at the university to appear at the UNIVERSITY RESEARCH ELIGIBILITY TEST (URET).
Candidates who have qualified in NET conducted by the UGC, the State Level Eligibility Test (SLET), and candidates who have got an M. Phil. Degree (those who have been admitted into the M. Phil. Course through an Entrance Test) are exempted from appearing at this URET, should also apply for Ph. D. registration along with the required fees. They are also required to appear an interview along with the other candidates qualifying URET, to be conducted by the Staff Council of the concerned Department, as provided in the Regulations; failing which their cases shall not be considered.
