12 MonthsPost Graduate Diploma in Rural Development is one year's (2 Semesters) Program and it is offered by the Dibrugarh University, Dibrugarh.
The centre is currently offering a one year PG Diploma course in Rural Development (PGDRD). The programme provides comprehensive knowledge and understanding about the concept of rural development, development initiatives in India and socio-economic factors affecting the transformation of rural sector. The course curriculum is designed to impart an integrated understanding and firsthand experience of the crucial dimensions of rural development. It aims at developing skills relating to planning formulation, monitoring and evaluation of rural development projects and programmes with special emphasis on the economy of the North East India in general and Assam in particular. Besides, the programme also gives special emphasis on farm management study.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates, who have passed the Bachelor Degree Course in any stream(excluding Fine Arts) from DU or any other University recognized by the UGC with at least 45% marks, will be eligible for admission to the PGDRD course. Relaxation of 5 percent marks for scheduled caste/scheduled tribes/other backward classes (including MOBC) candidates shall be as per existing rules of the state government. The selection will be made on the basis of merit. Candidates must also fulfill the conditions regarding as per rules formulated by the university/government from time to time.
