Data science has gained prominence in recent years. A study of the US Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that there will be 11.5 million job openings by the year 2026. This surge has led to an acute shortage of qualified data scientists. This is evident from AICTE’s decision to approve the full-fledged B.Tech course in Data Science.
HITS, being a pioneer in the field of engineering education, have decided to offer this course as a full time B.Tech program from academic year 2020 under the department of Computer Science and Engineering. The curriculum has been thoughtfully designed to include Computer Science’s knowledge framework with a strong inculcating of Data Science. The laboratorial setup and the intellectual resources of the department will deliver the best of Data Science and make our students as profound data scientists.
Eligibility Criteria
1. A Pass in (10+2) or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Biology Technical Vocational subject. Obtained at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together with minimum 60% in Mathematics.
2. Any other examination of any university or authority accepted by this University as equivalent of plus two.
3. Cambridge norms (General Certificate of Education – GCE). The candidates intending to join first year E & T courses should have studied General Certificate of Education (GCE), Cambridge International Examinations. And required to have obtained ‘Advanced Level passes in Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Mathematics and English at AS level.
