M.Tech Food Science and Technology at IIT Guwahati (IITG) Offline Course

 Master of Technology (M.Tech.) degree (IMD) in Food Science and Technology (FST) is being jointly offered by IIT Guwahati (July 2019 onwards, India) and Gifu University (April 2019 onwards, Japan) to nurture highly-skilled professionals in food and related industries. Fundamentals associated to Food Biochemistry, Applied Microbiology, Processing and Engineering would be nurtured in the joint degree curriculum to enhance research design thinking and a global mindset (adaptation to different cultures and cooperation with global partners) in the enrolled students. The curriculum promotes the growth of food and related industries in the north-eastern region (India) and Tokai region (Japan) and attempts to identify solutions for a sustainable society. 

Enrolment: Both Indian (05) and Japanese (05) students.  Second semester Course work and preliminary research work (April to July 2020) at Gifu University, Japan for Indian students. Gifu-U to provide Research/ Teaching Assistantships for IITG students during this period.  Round Trip Airfare: Borne by IITG for Indian students.  State-of-the-art research facilities available for food characterization, processing, and engineering studies at IITG and Gifu-U, Japan.  International (Joint) credits: Total: 48 (India – 33; Japan – 15); Course work: 24; Dissertation: 24
