Does ISRO recruits MTech CSE students through IITs?

Priyaanka Sarkar Student Expert 20th Nov, 2019

IIST  offers Postgraduate Programmes like:

M.Tech in Soft Computing & Machine Learning

M.Tech in RF & Microwave Engineering

M.Tech in Geo informatics

M.Tech in Optical Engineering

M.Tech in Machine Learning & Computing

M.Tech in Solid State Technology

M.Tech in VLSI & Microsystems

M.Tech in Materials Science & Technology, etc.

Opportunities depend upon ISRO Placements conducted by centralised recruitment committee. But ISRO doesn't conduct campus Placements like other companies. And CSE students do not have much opportunities in ISRO. However, we would suggest you to keep visiting their official website for relevant opportunites.

Hello anvitha,

Your profile was so good and high end . You are doing great with the engineering also. As now you has good background .

The IIM takes intake admission through the CAT examination and then as second step have to clear the cut off and for the written test and personal interview

Does getting a research intern abroad university depend upon the institute we are? Like from a institute like IIT Guwahati it is very less as compared to Delhi or Bombay? Why?

Priyaanka Sarkar Student Expert 9th Sep, 2019
Each IIT has its own parameters through which they offer internships, placements, eyc. Each IIT is independent of the other in these terms. Lack of basic facilities, limited connectivity, under construction college building and limited foreign collaborations are some of the reasons that new IITs are struggling for an identity. This is the reason why the numbers of research papers released by old IITs are far more than what is released by old IITs. IIT Bombay released 4680 research papers between 2010-14, while IIT Gandhinagar in the same period released only 147 papers, revealed a research. IIT Guwahati had 1784 papers. The campus culture and lifestyle of each IIT is also different than the other ones. Alumni connect in old IITs is strong. In IIT Delhi, new students connect with alumni via a website dedicated for one-on-one interaction. They mentor them and help them with internships and placements. And yes the Institution you have studied plays a vital role in your research intern opportunities.

Hello Sir,My Gate score is 372 (OC-EWS) From Civil Engineering. Can i have any chances to get admission in IIT Guwahati in Spot Round ?

Saurav chaurasia 21st Jul, 2019

Dear aspirant, hope you are doing well.

now coming to your question,as per the previous year cutoff it seems to have having a high score as compared to your score,so chances are very minimal for your selection. Now i would suggest you to fill for M.TECH in other IIT's and NIT's as well.

hope this will help.

Pls mention all drawbacks of IIT Guwahati in comparison to other 6 old iits?? (infrastructure ,placements, internships, academics)?

Sourav Sarkar Student Expert 19th Jul, 2019

Hi dear,

Hope you are doing well!

Now let's go through your question.

So basically, IIT Guwahati is just 19 years old while the other IITs have crossed 50 years.

Research at IIT Guwahati is lacking as the quality of Phd and M.Tech program is not upto the mark. Also at B.Tech level, students aren't motivated enough to stay at IIT Guwahati to do research.

Some of the important points about IIT-G:

  • It closes far later than older iits(mostly in all courses) so you have the option of pursuing your choice.
  • Infrastructure, 24x7 A/C Labs, Campus, Hostels etc are really good.
  • The peer group that you get always have some mind-blowing people who will surpass the students of all the older iits in terms of research and jobs.
  • Placements are good and at par with older iits.
  • People do get to MIT, CMU, Harvard, Stanford after their B.Techs. So even if your plan is to get a MS, it won't be the case that you would less opportunity than others.

Thank You & All the best!

NSIT DELHI CSE vs IIT GUWAHATI CSE which is better in terms of placements?

Prince Student Expert 19th Jul, 2019

Hey Ankit,

In Both of Above mentioned Colleges. I'll recommend you To Go for NSIT rather then IIT Guwahati. But depends on your choice as well. NSIT plus point is it's location. As it's located in Delhi. You will get good amount for internship as well as job opportunities. Regarding placements it has a decent placements as well. In case of IIT Guwahati it has its own advantage. As it's has better infrastructure obviously as it's IIT. So you could compare which you prefer the most.

Best of luck

Which is better in regarding placement-B E chemical engineering from jadavpur university or chemical engineering from IIT Guwahati?

Himanshu Vashith 18th Jul, 2019

Hello there. IIT has its very own reputation and their are maximum chances for placement from IIT. Considering for IIT, most of the reputed and good companies do visit the IIT's for placement so choosing IIT is always a better option above all the other colleges.
