The academics here are highly rigorous and research-oriented. The faculty is highly experienced in research and academics. Concepts, projects, and thesis work are given significant weightage in academics.
College Infra
World-class infrastructure including modern labs, smart classrooms, state-of-the-art research facilities, and an expansive scenic campus. The hostels, sports facilities, and technology infrastructure are also excellent, matching the standards of top IITs.
Campus Life
Campus life is excellent and diverse in terms of events such as technical and cultural festivals, clubs, and peers. The overall atmosphere is highly competitive as well as collaborative.
Placements
Placements are strong, and the average salary packages range from 10-20 LPA depending on the branch. Core companies, PSUs, and tech giants actively recruit here. The placement percentage is high, but it’s also important to perform well in these areas.

I am studying in the online BSc program, mainly because of the strong academic reputation of IIT Guwahati. The teaching quality is good, with experienced faculty explaining concepts clearly through recorded lectures and structured course material. The curriculum is well-designed and focuses on building strong fundamentals in mathematics, computing, and analytical thinking.
The syllabus is mostly updated and relevant, but becoming job-ready depends a lot on self-practice, projects, and external skill-building, since it is an online course. Overall, academics are rigorous and intellectually enriching, especially for students interested in higher studies or technical fields.

Even though I am enrolled in an online BSc program, IIT Guwahati is known for having excellent infrastructure among Indian institutes. The campus has modern academic buildings, well-equipped laboratories, advanced research centers, and a huge central library with access to both physical and digital resources. For online students, most learning happens through well-designed digital platforms, recorded lectures, and online portals, which are smooth and reliable.
