Bachelor of Technology in Biological Sciences and Bioengineering is four years (8 Semester) full-time undergraduate engineering program offered by Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. Biology is currently experiencing a golden age of research-driven discovery and the undergraduate curriculum (B.Tech) of the BSBE aims to expose students to exciting new fields of knowledge while also providing opportunities for obtaining valuable hands-on research experience. The program provides a unique fusion of biology with other basic and engineering sciences. Undergraduate students compete for scholarships and internship in Biotech/Biopharma industries under the auspices of endowment funds established by IITK alumni.

Eligibility Criteria

Must have passed class XII (or equivalent) Board examination with a minimum of five subjects and secured at least 75% aggregate marks. The aggregate marks for SC, ST and PwD candidates should be at least 65%.

Admission Details

Admissions for B.Tech. program is made once a year through Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Advanced) conducted on an All India level.

College Infrastructure

The infrastructure and activities are excellent but the faculty (the coaches of sports) keep leaving. The Wi-Fi is really good and has strong signals all over the campus and I assure you to get fast Wi-Fi any classroom you choose to sit. The canteen has hygienic food.

College Infrastructure

IIT Kanpur has a wonderful infrastructure of college area with 13 hostels(PG+UG) as of now and with a seperate academic area with large lecture halls. Lecture halls ranging from 50 to 600 seating with a projector facility in all the lecture halls and proper equipment in the laboratories. There are two sports complexes with almost many indoor and outdoor sport equipments and coaches.There is high speed wifi network provided throughout the campus. Mess area and the hostels are well maintained.
