12 MonthsThe Post Graduate Diploma in Statistical Methods and Analytics {PGDSMA} The total duration of this programme is one year. This course is offered at Chennai and the North-East Centre, Tezpur.
This programme is open to candidates from all over India. However, Fifty percent (50%) of the total number of seats at ISI North East (Tezpur) centre is reserved for the students domiciled in the North-Eastern states of India.
The programme is intended to provide students with a comprehensive training in basic theory and applications of Statistical Methods and Analytics, in addition to some exposure to Mathematics and Computer Science. It is so designed that on successful completion, the students will be able to take up jobs as statisticians in such departments of government and industries where application of Statistics and Analytics is required.
Eligibility Criteria
A candidate must hold a graduate/post graduate degree with any of the following: 10+2+4/10+2+5/10+2+3+2 with a Minimum of 60% marks or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale in the Qualifying Degree (i.e. B. Tech./ B.E./ M.Sc./ M. Com or equivalent).
For SC/ ST and Person with Disabilities (PwD) category candidates, the qualifying marks for eligibility shall be 55% or CGPA 6.0 on a 10-point scale.
The CGPA will not be converted into percentage marks, even if the degree awarding Institute provides marks in CGPA system. Their admission will be based on the CGPA awarded in the transcript. If the CGPA is on a different scale other than 10, the eligibility of a candidate will be based on the equivalence of the CGPA on a 10-point scale.
Admission Details
A written test will be held on February 18, and candidates shortlisted after the written test will be called for personal interviews to be held around April, The final offer would be made on the basis of performance in the written test and the personal interview. Due consideration will also be given to work experience and academic standing. Cities for written tests and personal interviews are Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, and Chennai.
Reservation: As per the Government of India stipulations for SC/ST/NC-OBC and PWD candidates.
