So, Yes , students are given a chance to change their branch after completion of Second Semester or in some colleges even after 1st semester.

Students are eligible for the changes in branch after they fulfill some particular conditions as prescribed by the University/institute for the respective change.

As per the official notification from the NIT Andhra Pradesh-

Only those students will be eligible for consideration for a change of branch after the I Year II semester, who have a. Completed all the credits prescribed in the I Year I semester and I Year II semesters. Obtained a Normalized score of not less than 70 at the end of the I Year II semester in single attempt only.

Unfortunately you do not have chances of getting ECE at NIT Andhra Pradesh, the CR for 2020 for OPEn-PWD was 252. The branches you can get are:

• Civil
• Metallurgical
• EEE
• Biotechnology

Other NITs you have chances of getting ECE are:

• NIT patna
• NIT raipur
• NIT hamirpur

In my opinion you should go for ECE in NIT Andhra Pradesh.

NIT AP has much better placements in CSE, ECE right now in this year. That would be the most important point everyone wants thats why NIT AP is more prior to ECE in compare to IIIT Jabalpur.

But, IIIT Jabalpur is good for research programs(M.Tech and PhD) than NIT Jabalpur. Moreover IIIT Jabalpur has collaboration with Universities of Japan which is not the case with NIT AP. Jabalpur is safer than NIT AP and even more developed.

Considering all the factors above, NIT AP would be a better option to go for.

Choose according to your interest.

NIT Andhra Pradesh is the youngest but fastest growing NIT among all other NITs in India.

There were so many negative thoughts spreading here and there since it had no permanent campus and all the facilities were limited.

But now NIT Andhra Pradesh has become one of the top NIT there. It has got the new and beautiful Campus with top notch infrastructures. New Labs and workshops have been set up. It has been awarded the “Best institute in South India” by CEGR. New faculties are also taken last year.

If you check the cut offs, you’ll notice it’s kind of similar of Top 10 NITs cut off and also the last year highest package was 32 LPA (2 students) which is two times higher than before.

So, NIT AP ECE is a good option you might want to consider.

Both the institute are very good in terms of academics but if we analyze deeper then NIT AP is better from IIIT Pune because:

• The Curriculum in NIT AP is better than IIIT
• The placements in NIT AP is also better compared to that of IIIT Pune
• The faculty members of NIT AP is more into research and as a result the exposure to the field you will get in NIT AP will be better than IIIT Pune
• Infrastructurally both of the college are great and there are nothing to distinguish about it.
