Periyar University has a separate hostel for boys. Periyar University hostel facilities include Osmosis System for drinking water, computers with internet facilities, a recreation hall supplemented with TV, leading English and Tamil dailies, magazines and employment news, etc. Students outside from/within Salem can avail hostel facilities.

The university offers hostel facilities to Periyar University students. There is a separate hostel for girls that offers facilities such as furnished rooms, groceries and perishable storeroom, reading room, kitchen garden, refrigerators, eco-friendly waste disposal system (proposed), solar power facilities, 10 KVA UPS systems, adequate toilet facilities, sports and recreational facilities and cloth washing areas.

The university has a health centre that is established in the Students Amenity Centre to provide medical care to the students, faculty, staff and children of the employees. The centre is under the operation of a medical officer who is working from 3 pm to 6 pm every day.

The central library consists of numerous volumes of textbooks and reference books on various disciplines. The library subscribes to various national, international journals, e-journals etc.

The university has a playground and different courts for various outdoor sports. The university also offers sports facilities for indoor sports.

Periyar University has various computer labs that are well equipped with modern technology. In all the labs, an internet facility is available.

Periyar University canteen is available for the benefits of students, faculty and staff members. The canteen is functional on all the working days including Sundays offering various food items options to students, faculty and staff.

Periyar University has a seating capacity of 1500 persons, covering an area of 2166.70 sq mt. The auditorium has inbuilt audio facilities The stage is facilitated with Air Conditioners with backdoor rooms. Separate toilet facilities are built for both gents and ladies. Convocation is conducted every year in this auditorium. International conferences, workshops, book fairs etc. are also being organised in this auditorium.

The college has a good networking for alumni association.

The college has Wi-Fi facility for the students and staff.

The university has one branch of Canara Bank that render various services to students, faculty and the public at the university campus. ATM facility is also available at the campus.

The university has a post office in the Pride building for the benefits of the students and teacher. The Library, Science Block has a ramp facility.

The university is well connected through public transportation. The bus stop is at the entrance of the university which is useful for students and staff members. Also, the university has a separate bus that offers transportation facilities to its students and faculty in reaching the university campus.

The university offers departmental laboratories facilities to its students. Each laboratory is well equipped with state of the art instruments and modern technology.

Periyar University offers parking facilities to its students, there is a two-wheeler parking shed in the Science Block.

The university has a well maintained and spacious guest house to accommodate visiting faculty and students' family members. All the rooms offer the necessary facilities to students’ family members.
