72 MonthsDoctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) is an offered Full-time Doctoral program and it is offered by Presidency University, Kolkata. Ph.D. program shall be for a minimum duration of three years, including course work and a maximum of six years. Extension beyond the above limits will be governed by the relevant clauses as stipulated in the Statute/Ordinance of the individual Institution concerned.
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates for admission to the Ph.D. programme shall have a Master’s degree with at least 55% of marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade.
- A relaxation of 5% of marks or an equivalent relaxation of grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/Person with Disability category as per UGC guide lines.
Admission Details
- Only UGC-CSIR NET/UGC NET and NET-LS qualified candidates shall be eligible to apply for enrollment to Ph.D. programme
- Selection on the basis of such applications may be conducted by a selection committee henceforth it shall be called ‘Departmental Ph.D. Selection Committee’. The composition of the selection committee shall be as follows: Dean of Respective Faculty (Chairperson) and Departmental Ph.D. Committee.
